The first reason why I consider this movie so good, is because of the cinematography. Taxi Driver changed how people made movies. One example of the advanced filming was the colors. There are many shots in this movie where you see the streets of New York, and all the violence. The colors enhanced these scenes, and make you feel like your there. You see many many great shots while Travis is driving.
Another reason why this movie is good is because of Robert De Niro's acting. He does a fantastic job of creating an interesting character. You can tell that Travis has a lot of mental problems, and his character needs a way to let out his emotions. Robert De Niro makes the viewer understand his character. He makes his craziness seem understandable, because you can see what he has to go through each day. His scene when his character talks to the mirror is one of the most famous scenes in the movie. Another great scene by De Niro is when he goes to save Iris from her pimp.
I think that this is one of Martin Scorsese's best movies. There are many great aspects to this movie. The acting, filming, and style were all amazing. Also the raw violence adds to the emotional part of this movie. I might be biased because I love Scorsese's work, but I would give this movie a 4.5 out of 5. I think that this is one of the best movies ever made.
You cover a lot of the really important elements of this movie in this review, I would try to add a little more structure to the formate but other than that you did an excellent job.
ReplyDeleteGood start, Matt. A challenging film that has a lot going on--I think you probably needed to include a lot more details and specifics to really dive in deeper. Looking forward to a little more analysis next time.
